community acupuncture

Community acupuncture is a nationwide movement to create access to acupuncture by removing the barrier of cost from healing. For acupuncture to be most effective patients need to receive it frequently and regularly. We want you to come often enough to get healthy and stay healthy which can be easier to do when cost is not an issue. We use acupoints on the scalp, and below the elbows and knees to treat the entire body. These points are no different than those used in a private setting. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to roll up over your elbows and knees. You will be asked to remove your shoes and socks.

The first visit fee is $60 which includes a one-time administrative fee. For follow-up appointments, pay what you can between $50 - $30 - no questions asked. ​Community acupuncture uses a non-income based sliding scale fee structure. This variable fee structure is offered to help you keep to a prescribed treatment plan, because we know that is when acupuncture becomes life-changing medicine.

When deciding what to pay please keep in mind your payment keeps the clinic open and pays the wages of staff. Your thoughtful participation also helps make acupuncture accessible to people in challenging circumstances.

NEW PATIENTS - Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete intake paperwork and speak privately with the practitioner. A credit card will be required to hold your first appointment. 

COMMUNITY SETTING GUIDELINES & ETIQUETTE                                                 

Remember to respect others as you would like to be respected. Each individual’s healing needs can be unique and are just as important as yours.

Quiet Space: Please remember that others are already resting and enter the clinic as quietly as possible. We like whispering and cell phones off. 

Scents: Please refrain from wearing strong scents (perfumes, essential oils, hair care products, fabric softener) or smoking prior to entering. 

Privacy: We adhere to standards of patient confidentiality and request all who participate in our community setting to do the same.

Should you decide after a few treatments in the community setting that you would prefer private treatments, a more in-depth intake will be required and an additional $50 fee will apply.
