Integrating Scar Tissue into the Fascial Web
A gentle manual therapy to treat dysfunction resulting from scars and adhesions, this mobilization technique improves the texture and quality of the scar you can see as well as the underlying fascial structures that you can't see.
As scar tissue ‘matures’ it forms adhesions which begin to pull and drag on surrounding tissue. This causes tension, restriction and disorganization in movement and function.
Scars of any age respond immediately to this work, followed by a short period of rapid integration and continued improvement. The improvements are permanent.

Producing scar tissue is a normal function of our body’s response to trauma, one of its many self-mending abilities. But problems can occur from this healing process. For example, abdominal adhesions can interfere with normal peristaltic action of the colon and joint adhesions can limit range of motion. The amount of change seen after only one ScarWork treatment is often extensive.
